“I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.”

Ps. 17:6

Pre-Service Prayer

These are teams of two who gather and call in the Holy Spirit as they pray for protection over the space of worship and teaching for each worship service.

Prayers of the People

Faithful brothers and sisters who feel called to lead the body in corporate prayers during the Sunday services.

Prayer Chain

Prayer Chain is a group of “behind the scenes” faithful who pray from their homes with strict confidentiality over the prayers that are received from the body. The coordinator receives these prayers and sends them out as they are received. The faithful of the prayer chain commit to praying over these requests.

Waiting Expectantly

This powerful ministry is built on Jeremiah 1:5a. Expectant families are assigned a lay ministry team of 3 intercessors who commit to pray daily for their needs, concerns, and praise. This is a joy filled opportunity to walk along side new parents or growing facilities during this special time in their lives. The intercessors also serve families who are awaiting adoption or experiencing infertility. The WE intercessors typically take a meal to the family after the child is welcomed home.

Cana Intercessors

Cana Intercessors is a prayer ministry for weddings based on Ecclesiastes 4:12. “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him - a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” This ministry covers engaged couples through their wedding for their marriage.

Prayer Appointment Teams*

This ministry offers specific prayer for the needs of others with in depth and concentrated time with the Lord. Special training is needed to come alongside people as we follow the model of our Lord through the steps of “Listen, Love, and Pray” in the power of the Holy Spirit. Appointments typically last around one hour and will be with 2 or 3 intercessors.

Healing Service*

This ministry offers a more organized healing service for the church and community at large. This service is clergy led and intercessors come alongside to offer prayer teams at appointed times with the service as well as opportunities for soaking prayer. Eucharist is offered at this service.

Sunday Morning Prayer Teams*

Sunday Morning Prayer Teams are made up of faithful lay persons who come alongside individuals from the body gathered on Sunday mornings in prayer. This is offered before and during communion. The team is made up of at least two intercessors.

Prayer Walkers

Some feel called to walk and pray! This ministry literally puts our feet into action as we walk the campus and cover our space often before big events at the church as well as when the Spirit moves them to come pray.

Soaking Prayer*

This is time of calling in the Holy Spirit and praying quietly (and in your prayer language if you have this gifting of the Holy Spirit) over folks who come for prayer. It is purely Holy Spirit guided and no words need to be spoken out loud during this time unless the Holy Spirit gives a word of knowledge to share.

Servants for Sight Prayer Teams*

Servants for Sight is a faith based, non-profit, community ministry in Greenville that partners with local agencies such as food banks, medical clinics and churches to provide eye-care for the low income, homeless, and uninsured. St. Paul’s Church partners with Servants for Sight to provide prayer teams to offer prayer support for each patient.

*Each prayer ministry lends itself to the need of some training and those above marked with an asterisk require more extended training through the prayer ministry at St. Paul’s Church.
